Cassiopeia
April 22, 2024 — JanSecond in the Constellation series Cassiopeia. 36″ or 91.44 cm sq, oil and paint sticks on canvas. link here for mythology story. Sorry about the wonky placement of the close ups. Hopefully, this is better. Also, the painting looks a bit more red. The closeup at top is more true to color. I don’t know what else to do about that. It seems to be that when the image is uploaded, the color somehow changes. I use the 50mm lens for my camera, halogen lights. i don’t know what else I can do. I’ve even taken pics outside under natural light and the color still seems off. Maybe youTube has a video about this, lol. They have videos on just about everything!

Cepheus
April 9, 2024 — JanThe last 3 paintings of the Becoming series are inspired by 3 constellations : Cepheus, Cassiopeia, and Andromeda. I think of these as a tie in with my scifi writings. If you’ve read my books then you know the significance of Andromeda. I used the stars only as a loose placement of the “stars” in the painting.
