These are 3 little paintings I’ve recently done. 7″ x 5″ and 6″ x 6″. I was playing around with curvilinear shapes. For some reason I am not happy with these. Don’t know if it is the colors, the shapes, the size, I just don’t like them. I have done a larger one and I really am not happy with it. I think I’ll leave them for awhile
These are the latest in my angles/tiles series. They are also the last of these for awhile. I thought it’d be interesting to see the right angles in a circular configuration, playing around with shape. I like them both but they remind me of all the pictures of the covid 19 virus! Not my intent. Maybe some subliminal suggestion, dunno. I really was just thinking of another arrangement of the tiles. I had posted my thesis and was thinking about spirituality. I’ve always have been fascinated by mandalas and the creation and destruction of them. I’ve seen videos of such beautiful ones only to be swept away by the monks when they finished them. It is not about the image but the production of them, something I was concerned with in grad school and still to a degree.
