I thought I’d give you an idea of where I am going in this next painting. There are 5 sections of 12″ x 12″ [30.48 x 30.48 cm] canvases. I’ve lined them up to get a continuous painting. The one on the left is actually a continuation of the one on the right. I can’t fit them all in a line on my easel. I think I may treat them as individuals and then towards the end put them together…… or not. Just have to see how it goes. I haven’t painted in a background, again, maybe later. I thought this would give me an idea of a “larger” gyre without having to spend money on a canvas when I have these smaller ones. This gives me the option of having smaller gyres if I don’t like the larger format. These smaller canvases work well in the series since I’ve painted on a smaller format earlier. The problem with a vertical canvas is where to hang it. Maybe I’ll try a horizontal one after this, who knows?
